As a team manager or coach, it's important to have your coaching staff set up correctly to manage your team effectively. This guide will help you add new coaches to your roster, adjust their roles, and resolve any issues you might face along the way.
Steps to Add a New Coach to Your Team
Step 1: Create Your Team Manager Account
If you are a new team manager, you must first create your USSSA Account.
Complete your registration, upload a photo, and pay the season membership fee.
Step 2: Submit Background Check
As required by USSSA, all coaches must pass a background check before being added to a team.
Go to your dashboard, click "More Info" beside the [REQUIRED] field for background check info, and submit your background check.
Once the background check is cleared, you can proceed with adding team-related members.
Step 3: Register Your Team
Once your account is created and the background check is cleared, register your team for the sport of your choice.
Step 4: Add Additional Coaches to Your Team
From your team dashboard, select Manage My Coaches/Admins.
Click on the Add Coach button.
Enter the coach’s information, such as their name and email address.
Assign them the appropriate role (e.g., Head Coach, Assistant Coach) and permissions.
Save the changes.
Adjusting Coaching Roles
Step 1: Access the Team Dashboard
Log into your USSSA account and navigate to your Team Dashboard.
Select Manage My Coaches/Admins to view your current coaching staff.
Step 2: Changing a Coach's Role
Find the coach whose role you want to update.
Click on their name and adjust their role using the dropdown menu.
Ensure any relevant boxes, such as the owner’s box, are correctly checked or unchecked.
Step 3: Removing a Coach
To remove a coach, uncheck the owner’s box (if applicable) next to their name.
Once the box is unchecked, click Remove or Delete next to the coach's profile.

Double-check that the coach's email address is valid and that they have completed all necessary steps, including background checks.
